Asus ROG 2 Phone - Beast For Gaming In $534.52
ASUS ROG 2 SMARTPHONE - Asus ROG Phone 2 is a beast
of a phone targeted at mobile gaming enthusiasts and tries to justify its
appeal with top-of-the-line hardware and some extra tweaks such as a 3D vapor
chamber and external cooling vent for better heat dissipation.
But it appears the metal vent on the ROG Phone 2's rear
panel is more of an aesthetic element than an actual component for active
thermal management.
ASUS ROG PHONE II REVIEW
Gaming smartphones are fast
becoming a hot trend in India as Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) like Razor
Phone, Xiaomi's sub-brand Black Shark and ZTE's subsidiary Nubia have started
taking the segment seriously.
The Asus ROG Phone II - follows the footsteps
of its predecessor and comes armed with powerful internals, the mighty Qualcomm
Snapdragon 855+ and impressive hardware.
IS IT LAUNCHED IN INDIA?
It has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs
37,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB RAM storage variant while the 12GB+512GB
variant is available for Rs 59,999.
They used the 128GB storage variant for few days and here's
how it fared in real life. This phone packs in an improved Adreno 640 graphics,
a crisp and big 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz for
effortless gaming.
The huge AMOLED display also had a high
contrast ratio and deep blacks, courtesy the OLED technology. The screen is a
refreshing change from the notches,
water drop-styled displays, and punch-hole
screens. Rounded corners and notch-less display meant no distraction for
gamers.
The device gets almost all
the gaming aesthetics right with RGB lighting, colored accents, and busy
design.
ASUS ROG PHONE 2 - TEARDOWN
In the teardown video below, you will see that the glass lot of
the phone's hindmost panel is unglued by a plastic band on the right side that
also crowds the air vent with copper inflections From the surface, it appears
that the air vent and the plastic strip
On the Asus ROG, Phone || are essential mechanisms of the mobile's
conserving structure, however, that does not seem to be the case.
The whole
metal opening, which is truly a black plastic band, has a reedy metal plate fond
of it, that is hidden from opinion by a skinny film over it.
The phone packs in a hefty 6,000mah battery which isn't
present in either Samsung's Galaxy Note 10+, OnePlus 7T Pro or any other
flagship device. It also supports Quick Charge 4.0 (30W) technology.
WHAT ABOUT ASUS ROG 2 CAMERA?
One important aspect of the device is the camera which
features sensors that we saw on the company's flagship 6Z, albeit for the autofocus
lens.
There's a 48MP sensor that misses out on optical stabilization while the Another lens is a wide-angle one with a 13MP sensor.
There's a 48MP sensor that misses out on optical stabilization while the Another lens is a wide-angle one with a 13MP sensor.
The ROG Phone 2 houses a 24MP selfie camera with f/2.0
aperture that's capable of clicking pretty decent self-portraits. However, we
felt the edges of the face could have been sharper.
The device packs one amongst the biggest copper chamber
found on any smartphone. For those that don't recognize, copper is an excellent
conductor of metal, therefore, heat dissipation on the device will be superb.
Hence, the hotness (temperature) on the device would stay
well below the satisfactory range even when its Snapdragon 855+ is rendering multifaceted
bits of data while playing PUBG on high settings or Executing similar resource-hungry tasks.
WHAT ELSE DID THE TEARDOWN REVEAL?
A huge half-dozen,000 mAh battery which by the way popped
right off after the pull tab was effortlessly detached (unlike Apple), double shaking
motors to provide an influential response And smartly enforced RGB diode emblem on the rear.
ASUS ROG 2 SPECIFICATION
CONCLUSION
The ROG Phone II is lightning fast, has superb battery life
complimented with a vivid screen and performance.
The hardware is impressive and top-notch and offers superior
gaming experience than OnePlus 7T Pro, courtesy of the higher 120Hz refresh
rate
That made gaming super smooth. Those looking for a gaming smartphone with
a premium-built should definitely go for the ROG Phone II.
