PUBLIC REVIEWS ABOUT ZENBOOK PRO DUO
The design is {analogous is comparable} to Asus’ original
ROG Zephyrus vice laptop: there are a front-loaded keyboard and an effectively
useless trackpad,
and a vast expanse on top of it. But rather than wasting that area on a flowery ROG emblem, Asus has filled it with a second 14-inch, 32:9 aspect, IPS “ScreenPad Plus” display.
and a vast expanse on top of it. But rather than wasting that area on a flowery ROG emblem, Asus has filled it with a second 14-inch, 32:9 aspect, IPS “ScreenPad Plus” display.
There are plenty of comparisons drawn between the ScreenPad and
Apple’s disputed bit Bar since each square measure secondary portable computer
displays close above the keyboard.
While you'll be able to use the ScreenPad and as associate
degree outsized management bar, that’s not the real purpose of it. It’s more
akin to Asus’ first, touchpad-replacing ScreenPad hardware
IT’S GREAT FOR ENTERTAINMENT
I could put a full-screen Netflix or YouTube video up on the
main panel, while still being able to browse social media, chat with friends,
and even look up the name of that actor I couldn’t remember without messing up
the stream.
WHAT ABOUT ASPECT RATIO
Due to the awkward ratio of the ScreenPad and, using it for
multiple apps at a time is practically essential. Having 3 windows open
cared-for be my most well-liked answer,
with two at an absolute minimum. Put one window down there and maximize it, and it looks sort of ridiculous, no matter what content it is.
with two at an absolute minimum. Put one window down there and maximize it, and it looks sort of ridiculous, no matter what content it is.
MORE OF A MOBILE DESKTOP THAN A LAPTOP
Although the “laptop” name, elevated the proposal, general extent,
and front-loaded keyboard makes ZenBook Pro Duo purely uncomfortable to use on
your lap for
Anything beyond a few minutes. And the 6.4-pound weight
means that you won’t be rushing to sling it into a bag, either. It’s
considerably a pc within the “portable desktop” class instead of a real mobile
device.
GAMING DOESN’T TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE SECOND SCREEN
Unluckily, maximum PC games aren’t intended to effort like
that. You can run them full-screen and keep things running within the
background on the second show, but if you click or tap on them, the game will
minimize away.
Seemingly, this is frequently a resolvable matter (I achieved
to cheat means around by running games in “WINDOWED” mode at a
fullscreen size),
and as stated before, streaming video does this flawlessly before now. It’s simply another place wherever Asus’ software system appears like it’s nearly there nonetheless.
and as stated before, streaming video does this flawlessly before now. It’s simply another place wherever Asus’ software system appears like it’s nearly there nonetheless.
IS IT PERFECT?
It’s not perfect by any means. I bumped into problems
wherever the ScreenPad would simply plain not activate once waking the portable
computer
and the software that Asus uses to manage apps and windows isn’t quite there yet. I had frequent problems wherever windows would lose their set widths or fail to snap to their locations or Asus’ launch simply refused to shut.
and the software that Asus uses to manage apps and windows isn’t quite there yet. I had frequent problems wherever windows would lose their set widths or fail to snap to their locations or Asus’ launch simply refused to shut.
SCREEN HINGE EFFECTS PERFORMANCE
Even with the additional few degrees that the screen hinge
(which lifts the complete back of the bottom of the portable computer off a
desk) provides, it’s just plain difficult to read the frustratingly flat show,
especially if your office has a lot of overhead lighting.
I usually found myself
craning my neck and higher body over the portable computer simply to browse a
Slack message, that most likely isn’t the simplest factor for my posture.
ISSUES WITH KEYBOARD
I’m undecided what a decent resolution is here: raise the
angle even higher, and therefore the keyboard becomes not possible to use, even
with Associate in Nursing enclosed palm rest. But so far,
No company has created a production laptop computer like
that nonetheless.
Still, it’s an intriguing way to use a laptop, one that I
hope other companies will continue to explore going forward.
RAW POWER PERSPECTIVE
The ZenBook professional pair ought to have process space to
spare for about the foremost intensive of power users and gamers.
The i9 chipset then 32GB of RAM were fairly sufficient for
any everyday tasks, besides outside of pro-level CAD RENDERING or VIDEO
EDITING, it’s improbable you’ll have to face many issues.
THE PORT SELECTION
The port choice is additionally astonishingly anemic for
such an enormous (and expensive) machine: simply 2 USB-A ports, a USB-C Thunderbolt
3 port, an HDMI port, and combined headphone/mic port. There are no SD card slots to speak of,
Which feels like Associate in Nursing odd oversight on a pc
this expensive that’s thus targeted on artistic work.
Then again, maybe Asus couldn’t fit any more ports, given
how much space on the sides of the laptop is taken up by vents for the massive
amount of heat it pushes out.
Nonetheless for all, ZenBook Pro Duo still becomes warm.
Among the top-level processor, burly visuals card, plus the pure
amount of pixels, it's to thrust among the two continually consecutively
displays, there’s endlessly a great deal.

PEN
Both the displays on the Duo are touch-capable, but rather
than let you muss them up with unsightly fingerprints, Asus bundled a pen. The Asus
Pen is made of slate-gray aluminum and has a substantial feel that's not unlike
a fountain pen.
And with 1,024 pressure levels, it does a fairly good job of
imitating the writing experience.
Just because of the angle, I prefer writing on the ScreenPad Plus, where the writing was smoother. Running on a battery, Asus estimates the Pen will last up to 10 hours.

AUDIO
One place where Asus needs to improve is the audio. The
side-mounted Harman/Kardon speaker barely filled our small lab. It was so bad
that at times, my co-workers' conversation overshadowed the speakers.
I wish Asus had added some audio software to give the speakers a boost. But as they are, you'll want to invest in a pair of noise-canceling headphones.

ALEXA INSIDE
In addition to its two displays, the Duo is also compatible
with Amazon Alexa. There's even a little light bar at the front lip of the laptop.
The integrated array mic works well. It easily captured my voice in our open office during a rather raucous conversation. And if you're so inclined, the voice command feature also works with Cortana.

PERFORMANCE
Do you want power? You got power. The Duo has an
overclockable 2.4-GHzIntel Core i9-9980HK processor with 32GB of RAM. It's more than
capable of handling massive spreadsheets, transcoding video, and video
editing.
GAMING
Although Asus is billing the Duo as a content
creation/productivity machine, with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 GPU with
6GB of VRAM,
the notebook is more than capable of playing traditional games or VRtitles.
On the Rise of the Tomb Raider test, the Duo notched 42 frames per second at
1080p, beating the 27-fps premium laptop average. The Duo matched the 49-fps
average during the Shadow of the Tomb Raider benchmark.
When I ran GrandTheft Auto V, the Duo achieved 67 fps, surpassing the 38-fps average.
For Metro: Exodus, we saw a score of 42 fps, which matched the average.
We also ran the Hitmen test, where the Duo scored 81 fps, beating the 62-fps category average. The system even managed to do a little 4K with 32 fps on Hitmen, which is just above our 30-fps playability average.

WEBCAM
The Pro's 720p webcam delivers accurate color, demonstrated
by my skin tone. It even managed the remaining patches of purple in my bleached
locks. However, details were soft in our test shots.
Although you will see black lines in the
Borderlands mask, other details like the creases in our shirts were very soft.
And the top of my head is an orangey-brown blob.
SOFTWARE AND WARRANTY
The Duo goes heavy on the Windows10 bloatware and light on the Asus-branded software. Outside of MyAsus,
which allows you to run system diagnostics, contact customer support,
Check for software updates and change display settings among
a myriad of other things is the only manufacturer software.
Useful third-party apps include MacAfee PersonalSecurity and Nvidia GeForce Experience, a suite of software designed to optimize your gaming
experience.
The Asus ZenBook Pro Duo ships with a one-year limited
warranty.

CONCLUSION
ZENBOOK PRO DUO - As a whole package, I’m still undecided the ZenBook
professional couple may be a smart pc. Between the $2,499 beginning worth and therefore the obvious
problems with biotechnology and utility, it’s a tricky sell as something apart
from a cool plan.
But the ZenBook Pro Duo did sell me on the idea of a second
display on a laptop, even if it doesn’t quite manage the execution just yet.
It’s a first-generation product of a radical new thanks to using a pc — thus, after all, Asus doesn’t have all of the items resolved simply nevertheless. Tell us which screen size do you want in the comments
It’s a first-generation product of a radical new thanks to using a pc — thus, after all, Asus doesn’t have all of the items resolved simply nevertheless. Tell us which screen size do you want in the comments
Presumably, the future generation of the ZenBook professional
couple can improve, as can different dual-display laptops with totally
different screen sizes and kind factors over time.
