How Fiverr Ranks Gig (Search Algorithm)

The biggest and obvious of all is “reviews” – the more reviews you’ve got the more you build trust in your clients and Fiverr ranking algorithm.

The next big signal is “Conversion Rate” which simply means how many clients you’ve converted to sales. Now you’ll be thinking how to do that? Just old tactics will some polite tone in your words.

Like provide quality work, go the extra mile to provide more value than the price given…

And you can achieve maximum “Conversion Rate” by staying active 24/7.

    Yeah, you heard that right.

I understand what you’re thinking about, how can I sit the whole Infront of the computer refreshing and waiting for clients to send me a message?

Use their app from play store, it’s available for android as well as iOS. By using the Fiverr app you’ll be able to stay online just by turning on an option called “Always Online” and that’s pretty much it.

Whenever you’ll receive a message you’ll get notified by notification and you can even watch your gig’s analytics to be updated what’s working and what's not.

Another big thing that fiverr algorithm checks is your “Targeted Keywords” – that are searched by clients to find relevant gig’s.

Now how can I compete with that gig’s that have gotten tons of orders and have better reviews than me?

It’s not impossible, there’s a skill called “SEO” that works pretty well and we’ll going to guide you on this too, so just keep reading.

These tips are used by 11 people and myself. From these tactics till now I’ve earned 10,000$ and earning…

These are all valid tips and tricks to rank your Fiverr gigs – that will increase your chances of getting an order and to establish yourself as an independent person.

So, let’s get straight into it.

Factors That Directly Affect Fiverr’s Gig Ranking:

    1. Reviews.
    2. Keywords.
    3. The Gig’s Views.
    4. Orders In Queue / Pending Orders.
    5. Featured Gig.

Setting Up Gig That Actually Ranks (On-Page SEO Guide)

Like above I’ve mentioned the word “SEO” – so this is the process you have to follow to create a successful gig.

For doing SEO you have to find keywords that clients are searching and finding gig’s that you’re going to provide as a service.

Now, you’ll be thinking about how to find those keywords?

Just type a general keyword in the search bar of fiverr.com. Like if you’re a graphic designer than type “Graphic Designing” you’ll start to get the suggestion of relevant and related topics like “Graphics Designing For Social Media” etc...

    Keywords finding process on fiverr
To these suggestions, you've to look for perfect keywords.

Follow according to your niche. If this doesn’t make sense to your visit site named Fivlytics.com – just type your general keyword there and you’ll know everything about that services like competition for that keyword and sellers information and many more...

And best thing is, this tool is absolutely free. I’ll recommend this tool to every new seller out there working on fiverr.

If you successfully found the right keyword, your half work is done. So better spend some time and don’t do this process in hurry. Take your time.

If this method frustrates and bore you then instead of doing in a hard way, work smartly. But how?

Learn to spy on your competitors – instead of finding keywords and other stuff just look at how your competitors are doing and which things are working best for them.

Simply copy their strategies with a little touch of your creativity and fill all the gaps that wasn’t filled by them.

    Remember While Selecting Keywords:

It should be more than equal to 2-3 words like “Social Media Designing” or “YouTube Graphics”
    It should have low competition.
It should have a decent average price.

I’m assuming that you’ve found the right keyword for yourself. After searching for the right keyword don’t just stuff that keyword everywhere, instead use it wisely. Like, use that keyword once in the title and 2 times in the description of your gig.

There’s also a section while creating a gig called “Tags” you can use 5 keywords there so, just put your keyword there and add other related keywords that you’ve researched.

Tags to rank higher on fiverr

There’s also a section called “FAQ” which means frequently asked questions, in that portion, you’ll add a question and a 2 lines answer for that. Believe me, this will save a ton of time while discussing with clients or visitors that are seeing your gig.

There are only 3 featured portfolio images you can upload. So how will you express your skills and other related stuff you wanted to show?

There’s a section while creating gig is “Upload PDF” where you can upload gig related info with your samples and other clarification needed before placing an order.

Luckily you can upload 2 PDF's but there’s a limitation on size – it should be smaller than 2 MB.

You just have to follow steps and you’ll instantly create a gig for yourself. After creating take a gander at:

    Response Rate

Most often, people don’t check their profiles and message stay “unseen” – cause a huge drop in response rate that tells clients: “how fast this freelance guy will respond to his query.”

This rating is between 0-100%, I’ll recommend you at least maintain it above 80%. That’s the main reason most clients won’t message you because they all in hurry and want someone who can instantly respond to their queries.

Again, if you’ve installed “Fiverr App” than no worries you'll be notified whenever message comes.

Higher Level And Milestones In Fiverr

By doing this, you’ll be able to get some orders. After that promote yourself to a higher level (there are levels, higher the level more orders you’ll get.)

To achieve higher level, you’ve to follow some guidelines that you’ll get by going into “Analytics” tab of your account.

Commonly Fiverr sellers called it “Milestones” the higher level you have the more trust will be built on clients because Fiverr pushes its credible freelancer first.

Have A good Average Selling Rate

Have A good Average Selling Rate on Fiverr

When clients are searching for suitable gigs that can help them out, they choose an option called “Budget” then Fiverr shows most revenant gigs according to their given budget.

So how a freelancer can take care of his “Average Selling”? you can simply ask your regular client to give you a combined work order of $50 or $100, by doing that your average selling will be maintained.

So, what is that “Average Selling Rate” – it’s an average of earning with your orders on Fiverr. For instance, if you’ve completed orders over $50 steadily (without doing any orders under $10) than your Average selling rate will be $50.

You’ve to take this form beginning, do less order but maintain your average selling rate. It will help you in long run. I’ve earned 2000$ by just completing 70 orders.

That’s how fiverr algorithm calculates freelancer’s growth and popularity.

What If You Still Don’t Get Orders?

The best thing that most freelancers say it to use social media. But how? Start joining some Facebook groups approach to some agencies already out there – that covers similar things like your selling.

There are more than enough platforms out there that can help you get some attention. And some most common used by freelancers are:

    1. Facebook.
    2. Instagram.
    3. Pinterest.
    4. Dribble.
    5. LinkedIn

You can join others also according to your niches like if you’re a musician than instead go for SoundCloud, YouTube, or Spotify that will help you in 2 ways.

    1. It will be your portfolio.
    2. That’ll help you get some limelight on your skills.

Create Multiple Gigs In The Same Category

Instead of being a grocery store do something on small scale like focus on 1 niche only. Many freelancers have more than 1 skill and they end up creating multiple gigs on different topics like one gig on podcast editing and one gig on graphic designing and others on cartoon animation.

Focus on One Niche At a time.

I’ve used this technique and it works pretty well on all the platforms. Just think from the client perspective if you visit a profile and you see, a freelancer is covering everything they’ll consider you “Jack of All”

Focusing on 1 niche that will make you look like a pro and other things would be easier for you like creating thumbnails and researching for each gig.

Makes sense? Start with small and then grow with time.

Secret Way To Rank #1 With Simple Trick

Yeah, but you’ll be thinking “then why don’t you put this first?” Because it is considered a grey hat technique, it is simple but effective.

In this you put most relevant keywords that you’ve gathered while researching in gig’s title while creating a gig and change it after publishing the gig.

By doing this: your title will become a permanent URL of your gig and then you can use other relevant keywords in your title after publishing the gig.

At first, it will look messy and don’t make sense while reading but after publishing just change it instantly.

“You’ll be thinking then most people will know this” but fortunately most people don’t. Even some top-rated sellers don’t know this trick. This tip is a gift from my readers and it’s working perfectly since 2017 for me…

Things Not To Do: As A Seller On Fiverr.

After doing all the mentioned stuff above, don’t change your gig again and again this will affect your rankings.

You know most of the new freelancers get banned by doing a small mistake. They ask for reviews from buyers.

It’s banned on Fiverr so don’t try to be over smart if they detected this they’ll gonna ban your account in no time.

They also ban account if you:

    1. Ask for contact information.
    2. Ask for an email.
    3. Ask for money.
    4. Outsourcing work.

And it’s for a reason, this will prevent scams. You’ll never know that buyer will gonna betray you or not. Fiverr is acting as a middle man to provide security on both ends.

So instead of saving your commission from Fiverr, stay inside their provided platform, you’ll more than safe.

Many freelancers outsource their work outside Fiverr, they hire somebody else at a cheaper price and then deliver them to their clients asking for big bucks.

If Fiverr caught you doing this, they gonna straightly block you from their platform. It's also unethical to use somebody for a lower price and get a big profit alone.

If you want to be more precise about what you should do on Fiverr then I’ll recommend you spend some time reading their Fiverr’s Terms Of Service. This will help you stay safe as a seller.
